At NGS, we take pride in the fact that students of Grades 8 to 10 elect their house leaders in a democratic fashion.
Council Members and Deputy Council Members for each of the 4 houses – Challengers, Knights, Rangers and Titans – are elected at the beginning of the academic year. These 12 members, in turn, elect the Council Presidents though a single transferable voting system.
These elections are fiercely contested with posters, speeches, nominations, withdrawals, ballots etc. akin to political elections. Students from Grade 10 play the role of the Election Commission and ensure that the process is fair and smooth.
